 Comments

 Favorite feature:

Everything: Freestyle feels like a puzzle where all the pieces fit perfectly.

 Least favorite feature:

Let's say bother: CVT tranny. It takes getting use to but at 29MPG, we'll take it!

 Advice to buyer:

Fantastic overall! Add some features like leather and the sound system for a better experience!

 Detailed review:

WOW! What a fun vehicle. My Wife and I build the Ford Explorer in Louisville, KY. But, we decided to look at the new Freestyle; something new and different. We traded in our 2003 Explorer for a new 2006 Ford Freestyle. We needed a downsize and the Freestyle was a wonderful choice. A car-like ride, with SUV type room and van-like qualities, the Freestyle is a great family vehicle. It is quiet and roomy, but feels snug and secure all at the same time. Takes to the road very well and has a fantastic sound system. We got most of the SEL options: leather, moonroof, 6 seats with center 2nd row console, Rear Parking Assist(yes, that beeping thing). We got some other options, but not all of them. We liked it the way we got it. Ours is white with tan interior. My one urk: CVT tranny. The CVT reminds of that whining engine/exhaust sound that the new KITT(red version) had in the Knight Rider 2000 movie only on a more subtle level. If you have watched it and a fan of Knight Rider, you will like the sound. I rather like the sound myself, but the CVT tranny is something to get use to. Maybe it is because it is so, so smooth, that you hardly feel it shift. It's kinda weird to explain, but it does have good power and gets up to speed very quickly. Past that, we are thrilled about the Freestyle and recommend it to anyone: ample room for our family, all 4 members! It will not let me at the bottom, but we also own a 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 door. Ashley and Amber Brown
