 Comments

 Favorite feature:

Unsurpassed safety, body style.

 Least favorite feature:

No trunk opener from inside the car, and poor visibility out passenger's rear window (take the back seat headrests out!)

 Advice to buyer:

If you're looking for great looks in a well-built car that will give you few problems: the V50 is it.

 Detailed review:

It was between three cars: the Audi A3, the Saab 9-3, and this one. We chose the V50 for a few basic reasons. The Audi A3 I would've purchased in a heartbeat if I were ten years younger and without a small baby. It easily outperforms the other cars in terms of shifting, speed, and handling. The Saab 9-3 is a very well-built car, and more highly rated than the Audi or Volvo, but as far as I'm concerned, the 2006 model is ugly and looks like it was built out of tin. As for the Volvo: I think it's the best-looking of the three, I *know* it's the safest, and it's also the biggest of the three in terms of seating and cargo hold. Volvos also last forever, which is another reason to own one. And though the T5 has 100 more horse-power, because of the sport suspension, it rides stiffer. The 2.4i at least has a smoother ride.

 Also considered:

2006 Audi A3
2006 Saab 9-3

 Vehicle purchased:

2006 Volvo V50
