Pay more for a better built minivan, and make sure you hear no noises, or see things out of place. |
Detailed review: |
I bought a 2007 Kia Sedona short wheel base in April at Holler Kia in Winter Springs, Florida. The test drive was nice, and it had been the 3rd one I took in a brand new Kia Sedona. The problems begun the next day. The dealer and the company know they have a coil problem in their AC compresors, so they are noisy and start to clink all over. The dealership already replaced mine once and it has already started to make the noise. The minivan also has a terrible noise problem when driving in uneven surfaces, a sign of the mediocre quality or workmanship at the factory compared to a Honda Odissey or Chrysler Town & Country, which I have tested or been in.
Overall, I dislike noise in a brand new car and if I would have detected it during the test drive, I would have not bought this car. What drove me to buy it whas the roominess, the price and the decent interior of the car, plus, I needed a bigger car for my family.
When it comes to gas consumption, the Sedona is a V6 like most minivans. It has plenty of power, but at a price. I get approximately 15-17 miles per gallon in the city.
The real test will be when the car is older to see first, if the dealer honors the warranty when the van starts falling apart.
I will not buy another KIA ever again. |
