Consider getting a third row that has a split bench for optimum storage/hauling capacity
Detailed review:
We purchased the freestyle two weeks ago as we have two small children and are adding to the family soon. We loved the idea of third row seating without the minivan look and feel. It think the 3 liter is a bit of a dog but we're coming from a Dodge Hemi so what compares? We considered the sporty and sleek looking Pacifica but the Freestyle is better on gas mileage and offered a split bench seat in the second row. We upgraded our SE with the safety package, aux climate control and traction control which brought up our price $1650 but they were important features. The Freestyle offers low gas mileage for a decent sized vehicle, adequate third row seating and plenty of leg room for my 5'10 frame in the front and back seat (not third row). The split bench second row provides extra seating if needed and storage flexibility. This is NOT my dream vehicle but it is functional, comfortable, efficient and works for this time in our lives. When the kids are grown and gone and the budget is fatter we'll be back to the horsepower and beef that I love so much.
