Advice to buyer: |
Get the 6 cylinder. EPA mileage is only 1 mpg less, but pushes price up 2k or so. |
Detailed review: |
I test drove the 4 cyl. version for about 1/2 day, and was a bit disappointed. As far as acceleration, it is something of a slug. The ride is jittery and road noise quite evident. Handling/cornering is very good, thanks to the standard ESC, I guess. Front manual control seats were surprisingly comfortable, and second row seating is quite spacious. Cargo space is very good with the seats folded down. Toyota build quality is evident and the vehicle feels solid and substantial. The side opening rear gate is very annoying, particularly since the hinges are on the curb side. |
