I previously owned a 1997 Quest also purchased new. I made a bad choice when I replaced it with a 2000 model. The difference three model years made in design and comfort is striking -- strikingly poor. It seems as though the designers included the worst points of the previous models while leaving out the best points. The interior lighting is poorly designed; only the left side of the cabin gets any lights. The video entertainment system is floor-mounted, making it impossible for rear-seat passengers to view the screen. The controls for the rear air conditioning are roof-mounted and cannot be reached by an average-height passenger while seat-belted in. And worst of all, they did away with the rear heater vents. In cold weather it takes forever for the rear cabin to warm up. And stuff breaks all the time! Little crappy things like the retractable cup holders end up costing $100 to replace. I am disappointed that I got sucked in by the exterior appearance and the positive experience of owning a previous model.
