Advice to buyer: |
Based only on my expericence, I would advise any potential buyers to think twice about buying an L300. |
Detailed review: |
I bought my Saturn 2004 L300 because my sales person sold me on their concept of being customer driven and because of the safety features of the car.
However, where Saturn failed me as a customer was their inability to back their product, let me explain.
I had an intermintent problem with my 2004 L300 about two weeks after I had purchased the car. It would not start. It took Saturn about a month to figure out the problem which turned out to be the fuel pump. But it turns out maybe that was not the case, let me explain.
After Saturn replaced the fuel pump I started having the same intermintent problem. I came to realize that whenever my fuel level was at approximately one eight of a tank that was when my car would not start. To make a long story short I ended up talking to three different supervisors and they all said that this is common with all L300's (wouldn't that been nice to know before I bought the car). The last supervisor I talked to basicly said there is nothing that Saturn can do for you, and told me by letting the fuel level get low you are stressing the fuel pump. She told me not to let the fuel level get so low, and told me to start fueling my car up before it got to and eight of a tank, suggesting that I fill it up at a quarter of a tank. I told her that I did not agree with Saturn and that in my opinion they where just taking the easy way out by making up some lame excuse and passing the buck on to the customer. She said it's not a safety related item , thank you have a good day.
Its unfornate that my sales person did such a wonderfull job just to have a company he belives in so much loose a customer forever because of a condition they have admitted exists in all L300s, but do not want to fix, but would rather pass on to an unsuppecting customer like myself.
So now I am stuck with a new car for the next six years that I will have to remember to fill-up when it gets to a quarter of a tank so that I will not have problems with it starting, or will I?
'Isn't that special'. |
