Detailed review: |
Bought the car new in March 2001. Have driven it on the highway a lot, and it does well on long distance trips. After three years and 70,000 miles the car has had only one problem, but it was a bad one. The transmission failed. Honda has recalled all automatic transmissions on the 1999-2003 Acura TL and 1998-2002 Honda Accord for premature transmission failures, where about 15 percent of all transmissions fail. Acura was very good about my failure. They gave me a free rental, and replaced the transmission for free in four days. The car runs like new, and this is the only problem it has had. It is a low priced luxury car that has very good performance. A good bet as a used car, but make sure it has less than 100,000 miles since the warranty ends at that point. |
