Detailed review: |
The C-70 Convertible is a nice car to look at, but the overall quality of the vehicle leaves much to be desired. The car lacks the higher powered turbo of the sedan and loses a good deal of the 'fun to drive' factor with this. Losing the sedan roof takes a very stiff and solid coupe and results in a car that has a great deal of body flex which is annoying when driven over anything but glass smooth pavement! As a consequence the doors rattle as do other parts of the car resulting in numerous trips to the dealer for adjustments.
The top needed to have a re-call from Volvo to get it to seal properly and replace components that were falling off, and the interior fit and finish is of low quality as well. Numerous plastic mouldings have sharp edges, and the finish has peeled off of various dash buttons which needed to be replaced after only a few thousand miles.
This car has seen the dealership more in the 5,000 miles I have owned it than all the previous Japanese vehicles combined that I have driven over the last 10 years!
While the car looks good, and few are around lending some exclusivity to ownership, I would say BUYER BEWARE due to the overall poor interior workmanship!! I would suggest a look at the BMW or Mercedes CLK Convertibles instead! I'm going to trade for the BMW! |
