Favorite feature: |
Superb road manners, plenty of technology and safety features, transmission, brand cachet. |
Least favorite feature: |
Price shoots way up when you add options, exterior design doesn't inspire lust. |
Advice to buyer: |
While it sacrifices most of its predecessor's sex appeal for the sake of 'flame surfacing' styling it still does the job. |
Detailed review: |
The Z4 3.0i roadster's 'flame-surfaced' body style is a bad replacement for its predecessor's sexy '007' corporate styling. In other respects, it offers much to like -- a more rigid chassis, a real glass rear window and, a Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG) like the one in the M3. All in all, the driving experience is exhilarating -- so if you can get past the styling and come up with the requisite cash, you know where this one belongs on your things to get list. Personally I could not get over the 'shark-like' look and went for an equally powerfull/price used '01 Porsche Boxster w/18K miles on it and love it to death. |
