I recently traded in my 1997 4 Runner on a 1999 4 Runner Limited. The Toyota Corp. has cleaned up this newer edition considerably. Simply put, If you want only a status upgrade and luxury, buy a Lexus / Mercedes. But if you require a rugged 4 wheeler that also is incredibly comfortable, than the Limited will fill the bill. I drove the Jeep Grand Cherokee and felt it handles more like a boat! I do wish Toyota would beef this engine up a bit. They could bore out the cylinders and increase the horse power to 200 hp if they wished. All & all it's a great ride.
