CD/DVD Entertainment System

 Least favorite feature:

Foot -room in front: need a dead pedal for drivers left foot and more clearance for passengers feet (under glove box)

 Advice to buyer:

Don't pay over MSRP! Get factory DVD option if you have kids--it's cheaper and better..

 Detailed review:

The 2003 MDX walks the talk and more. The factory-installed DVD system takes some practice in order to manage all of the different front-rear combinations, but it is well worth the $1,500 extra. Performance, quality and attention to detail are great, making the 2003 MDX a very fun vehicle to drive. Although it's not as tall as some of the large SUV's, the cabin windows and sloping hood provide excellent visibility to what's in front of and around you. It also has great maneuverability and actually can be easily parallel-parked. As with previous MDX models, find a dealer who doesn't ask over MSRP to simply do their job--reputable dealers are out there and are more than willing to work with you by phone. The trick is to find one with a decent MDX quota so you don't have to wait a few months. The only negatives I see are a couple of picky ones: my wife complains that her ankle hits the bottom of the glove box on the front passenger's side. This would have been a deal-killer if she had sat in the front during the test-drive. It all depends on your size and how you sit as many people won't experience a problem with this at all. On the driver's side it would have been nice to have a better space for resting the left foot. My other minor peeve is the plastic dash. It looks ok, but it would have been be nicer if it had a better (i.e. softer) feel. However, these are very minor negative points on a vehicle that scores big on the things that are most important.
