 Comments

 Favorite feature:

The design and styling of interior and exterior is top notch.

 Least favorite feature:

AC has a hard time keeping interior cool on really hot days.

 Advice to buyer:

If you don't mind a sport suspension and a little road noise, then have some fun during that daily commute with the XRS

 Detailed review:

This car is just plain fun to drive! The four-wheel disc brakes with ABS have awesome stopping power. The engine seems tame at lower RPM's, but sets you back in your seat if you let it rev into its real power band above 6000 RPM! Although you won't experience jack-rabbit starts, especially with the AC on. You can increase throttle response around town with the OD off (nice push-button feature on shifter handle). Handling is firm, responsive, sure-footed, and tight. The CD/stereo with 6 speakers is pretty good, but the speakers buzz a little and any serious music lover will probably end up eventually replacing the speakers with higher-end equip. The cargo area is extremely flexible, although if you don't have a cargo mat, your stuff will slide all over the place on the slick plastic surface! Road noise is a problem, so if you like a quiet ride, this car may not be for you. The options are much cheaper and more logically packaged than on the Pontiac Vibe and the XRS can be had with the auto trans (the Vibe GT only has a manual trans). In my opinion, the Toyota beats the Vibe hands down. The warranty is way better on the Toyota too. I have 5000 miles on my XRS and had nothing but fun!
