Favorite feature: |
Exceptional gas mileage. I could easily get 275 miles in the city driving in rush hour before refueling. |
Least favorite feature: |
Very poor handling. You never really feel in control. |
Advice to buyer: |
Open the car up on the interstate before deciding to buy. |
Detailed review: |
I test drove the XRS on a congested city road and thought the car handled well enough to buy. I was in a hurry because my last car was seriously dying and after reading all the specs on this car, I thought it would be a good gamble.
Now.. after 3000 miles (6 weeks) I traded the car in. I absolutely hated how the car handled at higher speeds on the interstate. The car would literally float left or right and never really aligned properly in spite of taking it in for realignment. The car was relatively quick, but lacked torque. The 6 disc CD stereo was a nice feature, but lacked true quality. Wind noise is high on the freeway. The 6th gear is nice, but definitely more for overdrive than anything. Other than that, the car is a decent economy car.
Now that I've traded it in for a 2005 Scion tC, I'm ecstatic! You must, must, must test drive the tC before purchasing the XRS. They're both the same price and the tC is far underpriced! Completely night and day between the tw o vehicles and now I could not be more satisfied. Not even with a BMW 3.. Trust me. |
