Cheep interior - However I plan to upgrade tis area the best I can with aftermarket stuff - |
Advice to buyer: |
Make sure you get the ABS and side airbags - I also plan to put in 5 point seat belts. You never know if a drunk driver will hit you. |
Detailed review: |
When looking at the GT V8 vs. V6, one has to ask 2 questions and living in Los Angeles, CA.
1. Do I need V8 power in a city of slow traffic -
2. Do I really want to pay more a lot more money to the insurance company.
First the ride is the same when clicking around 30-50 mph. Yes you can gun the GT and it will kick you back, however I do not need traffic tickets in this town. The V6 has pleanty of power and you can upgrade the power with headers and a changed gear ratio to pick up more H power.
No GT for me -
I also felt that I don't need that big sound letting everyone know when I'm coming or going (GT - V8). If you are dating - this could be a problem. You may have to get the GT manual trans - turn it off and cruse in the drive way at night :)
What I ordered -
So - I ordered the V6 with a number of options - ABS brakes, side air bags, electric sport bucket seats with the leather upgrade - bla bla bla. This made the ride very enjoyable for me (I also like the lumbar support in the upgrade package).
Inside size -
At 6'2'' this is the first 2 seater sports car I can say I fit into. The back seats are for storage or a baby seat. All the other cars I test drove were way to small for me. For you daters, you can at least make out in this car -
The power at 220 hp is not anything to stick your nose up at. I went for the mannual - great fun to drive - hands down.
This is a pleasure car for me - as I will be keeping my XJR Jag. This will be my first true American sports car - I have owned Z cars, BMW's and others - For the price you can not beat this car. Try and find someone who can get you X plan pricing - I tricked mine out and paid sticker (25k). While I have to wait 3 months - I'm in no rush as no other dealers have the options on the lot I wanted anyway.
If you are in the market for a sports convertable and tall -This is the car for you. |
