Hard seats and lack of equipment for the high price you have to pay.
Advice to buyer:
Make sure you look at other vehicles before deciding on the 4Runner.
Detailed review:
The good looks of the 4Runner made it my first choice when I started looking about a month ago. But after getting inside one I'm now going to have to think a little harder about buying one. The interior is sparse to say the least. The seats are rock hard and the way they flare out at the sides was very uncomfortable. Another thing that turned me off was the lack of standard equipment. An SR5 for $32,000 gets you power windows, locks and mirrors, while an Explorer or Grand Cherokee for the same price nets you tons of standard features. The 4Runner is a beautiful truck that can actually go off-road but needs major improvements to the interior.
