Get V8 with EXT model - more power & better mileage!
Detailed review:
The North Face edition purchased new for $9,000 under MSRP! Has every option (including rain-sensing wipers & headlight washers). V8 3.73 gears averages 16 mpg. Great tow vehicle (6000 lb boat) and very smooth ride. Trade-off for long wheelbase is less parking maneuverability. A(utomatic)4WD setting engages front wheels somewhat jerkily. Original Conti tires were smoth & quiet but lacked traction & handling- replaced @ 50k with Goodyear Forteras- much improved. Amazing interior room esp. 3rd row seats. Wind noise can be reduced by moving front crossbar to rear of luggage rack. Inconsistent A/C operation seems to be a common problem in 2002-2004 models. May be improved by installing 2005 fan clutch, etc.
