Detailed review: |
I have owned my 2003 Eddie Bauer Expedition for 2 months. My initial reaction was surprise at the quality comfort and handling. Nevertheless, upon driving along the interstate I noticed a rattling noise behind the dashboard. When I brought the vehicle in for service, a first look behind the dashboard couldn't isolate the problem. On a second visit, the windshield was pulled and resealed which resolved the dashboard noise but resulted in a far worse rattling above the sunvisors. The windshield was reseated AGAIN on a third visit to the service center, with no improvement. My complaints to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle now result in shoulder shrugs, and a request to trade out the vehicle was met with a 'sorry can't do anything for you' reply (I'm not sure how high up in the administrative chain the request went through), even when the subject of 'Lemon Law' was brought up. At this time I'm considering trading the vehicle in at a different dealership at what will be a significant financial insult to my pocket versus following through with a Lemon Law claim. BEWARE of purchasing an Expedition from FORD, and at least do a test drive at highway speed to rule out any similar windnoise problem. |
