 Detailed review:

After considering all the main competitors, we decided to purchase a 2003 Eddie Bauer Expedition. The ride is much improved over the 2002. It drives and rides like a luxury vehicle. The steering is tighter as is the turning radius. Vibrations are not transmitted to the occupants of the vehicle. External noise is much reduced. In fact, in order for a person inside the vehicle to hear what a person outside the vehicle is saying, that person must yell. It is a quiet firm ride that feels as if you are moving in slow motion. In addition, it is a very safe vehicle with many safety features that come standard such as ABS brakes which have been oversized resulting in much shorter stops. There are also adjustable gas and brake pedals, passive anti-theft system, lowered front bumper that is now the height of most automobiles, and second generation air bags that inflate at different rates depending on the severity of the collision. To appreciate the changes that have been made to the external appearance of the vehicle, you must see it in person. When I saw the pictures of the 2003 Expedition and compared to pictures of the 2002, I saw no noticeable difference, but when I visited a dealership and compared the two, it became obvious that there was no comparison. The 2003 looked much better; it is really a head turner. Originally we were considering a GMC Yukon, but decided to get the Expedition because of its improved ride, its better looks and because of the Expedition's usable 3rd row seat that can be used by adults over six feet tall and its fold flat feature without removing the seats.

 Also considered:
