 Comments

 Favorite feature:

Performance: engine, brakes, and cornering are all GREAT!

 Least favorite feature:

Ergonomics are weird, stereo is only so-so.

 Advice to buyer:

The sport suspension is pretty taught. Drive both version to see what you like best.

 Detailed review:

Bad stuff first: the ergonomics on this thing are weird. Seat controls in the wrong place, hard-to-learn radio controls, etc. The premium stereo is OK but overpriced. The nav system has quirky controls, but is VERY good. I've used Acura's system a lot and this one picks better routes, but doesn't have as many options for customizing. Plus, no touch screen...come on, Infiniti, a joystick? No matter what they say, I've never been able to beat 20 mpg, even when driving gently during the break-in period. Set your wallet accordingly. OK, now the good stuff: After a few days, you'll love this car. The performance is great with awesome acceleration -- see ya BMW 3-series! The engine sounds like a V8 when you open it up. The shifts are S-M-O-O-T-H, except when you punch the gas from a rolling start. It'll do a double-downshift that is effective, but not very graceful. I guess if you want graceful you order the I35. The G35 takes corners FAST with no lean and no squeal (I have the sport suspension). The brakes are touchy and take some getting used to, but they are absoluately amazing. I'm owned a few honest-to-goodness sports cars and the G35 out-brakes all of them. Overall -- great job, Infiniti! It looks like you're on a comeback roll!
