Advice to buyer: |
It's a GREAT car, but beware if you're tall or need cargo space. It's a great second car for anyone or an every day car for the younger ones if they don't need to carry much cargo. You will also need to upgrade the speakers or radio. |
Detailed review: |
I own the 2000 MR2 and as far as I can tell from the current reviews of the 2001, they are identical. I love the looks and the handling. Everyone stares or even rolls down there windows to ask what it is or just to say, 'nice car!' My and my boyfriends fear was how it would handle a rear collision since the engine is in the back. Well, I already got rearended on the highway by an SUV with ramming bars and the only damage was the exhaust system was punctured and the reinforcement bar cracked. There was no frame damage and I was not injured at all. I feel very save in my MR2. The steering is great and being 5'3', I fit perfectly in the car. The cargo space only fits a few of my college books and my laptop bag. I just recently upgraded the speakers and will soon add a small amp and bass bazooka to inprove the stock stereo sound. |
