Today, I test drove an X5 just to satisfy my wife, thinking that I was going to purchase another Lexus. Boy, was I sorry! There was a noticeable difference in the BMW's performance, handling and overall appeal. The 2001 V6 model has a very smooth and quiet ride while offering surprising power. I had fun changing from the automatic-to-clutchless manual-transmission for a sportier drive. The rich looking wood grain accents the interior nicely. There are plenty of other luxuries as well as many practical features such as independent temperature controls for driver and passengers; special sun guards on rear windows; rear seat cup holders and many more.
