Purchased used in June 1997. Roughest riding vehicle I've ever owned. I knew it rode rough when I purchased it but grew tired of the rough ride early on. Toyota just hasn't got it yet. They think everyone buys these vehicles to drive them offroad and over boulders when 99% buyers drive on paved roads. Good quality vehicle. Not any difference in value at trade-in time compared to a Ford, Chevy, Nissan Pathfinder, etc..
Also considered:
1997 Ford Expedition
1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee
1997 Nissan Pathfinder
Vehicle purchased:
1996 Toyota 4Runner
