It is Saturday afternoon in mid May. The weather is perfect for a drive in a convertible. The MR2 Spyder does not disappoint. This vehicle is quite nimble and whipping it around a 90 degree turn at 40 mph was no problem. While only having a 1.8 liter 4-cyl. this little car has plenty of pep.
Riding in it is comparable to driving a go cart as you are seated with your legs straight out in front of you and then having the engine behind you.. I am 6 foot 3 inches and weigh 230 lbs. I still managed to fit in the drivers seat, even though there was about 2 inches between the steering wheel and my legs. This kind of cramped space is to be expectd in a small two seater sports car though. The instrument panel is easy to view and the shifter is positioned at the end of the armrest, right where it should be. Driving this car around town definetly turns heads, not bad for $23000. My biggest complaint is the lack of cargo room. There isn't enough cargo space in either storage compartment (front and rear) to store even a briefcase or backpack.
