Advice to buyer: |
Go with the up-level GSi. It's got all the stuff that the regular Accent has, plus A/C, a killer stereo, 14 inch tires, and a spoiler. All for about $10,000 |
Detailed review: |
The Accent is remarkably quick for a small car! There's no way that you'll blow away a Corvette or a Viper, but you'll hold your own against all of those Aspires, Metros, Tercels, and Sentras out there. Also, the 5-speed manual is very smooth and forgiving; it seems perfectly matched to the power curve of the 1.5 liter 4 cylinder. Additionally, the steering is very quick and responsive, with a light understeer tendency; the 4-wheel independent suspension keeps this car planted to the road around crazy hairpin turns.
The ride, as you might expect, is a bit rough, but it's easily tolerable. Remarkably, the passenger compartment is very quiet, even on the roughest of roads. Overall, a very pleasant driving experience. |
