 Detailed review:

what a great truck I thought and went 3,000 miles from New york to Mexico's west coast. Then about 10,000 miles I heard this noise at start up that I thought was lifter noise, but being in Mexico at the time I waited til my return trip back to New York and stopped at the Chevy dealer in Laredo ,Texas where what I thought was lifter noise was diagnosed as 'piston slap'.What? They had to be wrong .It was a new truck.Well that shouldn't be a problem cause the vehicle was very much under warranty and I was sure that it would be taken care of.Guess again! GM has abandoned me after promising to fix this problem by saying its not really a problem after all.Like curing cancer by saying its not really a problem. I never read in any review in any of the auto and truck magazines any thing but good things about these engines and trucks but have come to find out that many owners have experienced the same problem of piston slap. How could all the professional reviewers not mention this condition? I would certainly have not bought this truck if I had even an inkling of an idea that this $35,000 vehicle would be plagued by this defect! If you even think about buying a Chevy or Gmc truck, ask your salesman about 'piston slap'.If he pleads ignorance walk away .
