 Comments

 Favorite feature:

Apperance, power, smooth shifting 5 speed(recommended)great handling and 4wd traction as well as practical aptitude.

 Least favorite feature:

The seats.. not bad, but a little uncomfortable. I have a little trouble with the fabric. Its appears to be very durable, but I think softer material is needed to improve comfort. The styling could be a little more conservative.

 Advice to buyer:

If you can afford the extra 1500.00 for the faux pas hood, and the increased suspension height and a few extra apperance schemes, this car is worth the extra because they are going to maintain the highest resale.

 Detailed review:

The impreza outback sport is a practical alternative to todays high priced Suvs. Though not a true suv, by not having a huge amount of clearance and a low range transmission, what this car offers is a blast on the fireroads and other back roads excursions. All while getting reasonable gas mileage, and good creature comforts. Not to mention excellent 4wd traction. This car loves snow. It handles supurbly blasting through 12' inches of powder which is no problem for this car. even heavy packed snow upwards of 8' is not out of the question. The power and performance is best suited to the 5 speed manual that shifts smoothly and in my opinion makes the best power out of the 145 hp 2.2. Though, I feel like the engine could use a few more ponies to take better advantage of the excellent suspension. Steering feel is excellent. The brakes are great with abs, but not as good (though not bad) without. The seats are good, but maybe a little stiff for my tastes and the fabric could be better. The outback sport offers a wide range of owners, versatility, reliability and performace that is well worth the cost. You may have to get used to the apperance of the car. Its not conventional but thats one feature I enjoy from subaru. They make their own styling statements that arent mainstream. Which makes them stand out. So if you are looking for a excellent car that hits alot of different nails..performance, sportiness, 4wd traction and reliability all rolled into one.. this is your car.
