 Comments

 Favorite feature:

the cruise control. i drive long distances and this feature is a required 'must have!!'

 Least favorite feature:

the back seats can be discarded. it's purpose doesn't serve well for big americans. in place of the seats, install a beefier subwoofer system in the back that could give the company's decent stereo system more bang for the buck.

 Advice to buyer:

don't mess with the other 4 cylinder 'pretenders.' demand quality and use the toyota tacoma 4x2 with the perky 4 cylinder as a benchmark!

 Detailed review:

i was impressed at how well the truck (4x2 ext cab) was thought out by the designers. it can used as a commuter vehicle in addition to it's impressive utility purposes. the 5-speed manual felt rather smooth, but not to the point where you weren't aware of the gear you shifted into. the ride was also smooth, but it didn't separate you from the feel of the road. after all it is a truck and there must be a standard of ruggedness for drivers to deal with. there are other brands of truck i've driven where the conditions of the road didn't transfer to the steering wheel and in very close call accident-avoiding situations, i had to rely on other senses to bring me out. the engine turns out to be a winner as well. there's enough torque and power to get up and past a medium grade hill without having to build up speed miles before i reach the incline. now that's impressive for a 4-banger designed for a truck. another notable feature about the engine was the low amount of noise it generated when pushed at higher cruising speeds. it was just slightly noisier than the sound of the tires rolling on smooth concrete pavement. when i finished driving the 4x2 extended cab, i couldn't help but have a smile on face and a deep yearning to have one of these trucks parked in my driveway.
