Spend a lot of time test driving and asking questions
Detailed review:
We test drove several SUV’s including the Jeep Grand Cherokee. There was no comparison, I believe the 4Runner is much better designed and engineered. You have a better view of the road looking over the hood and the side windows come down further for better all around visibility. The 4Runner has the highest ground clearance and is build on a truck frame (which is superior for off-roading no matter what the Jeep sales person tells you). The limited model has two four-wheel drive modes and locking differential as well as the ability to drive in 2-wheel drive mode. This saves ware and tear on the 4WD system while on the highway. The deciding factor to purchase a 4Runner was quality. I needed something that will continue to be dependable while I rack up a lot of miles traveling between work and home. The Toyota quality is clearly evident when you test drive this vehicle.
