 Advice to buyer:

check the internet, do your homework before dealing

 Detailed review:

just bought the car after several weeks of researching different suv's. I feel hands down that the highlander is the best value in its class. I was most impressed with the ride of the car. The acceleration of the v6 is more than enough for you typical commutes. (the V4 is no slouch, but the engine noise was notably louder compared to the V6). You'll find you get a lot for your money. Typical options include the appearance package and convenience package. I indulged and got the sunroof, for just a little bit more. The toyota dealer quoted me a price just over invoice - I would recommend getting quotes online first and being very selective in which dealers you actually visit. Let the dealers know you have done your homework. In contrast the Honda dealer (for pilot) were somewhat arrogant and very unwilling to deal. The best line from honda occurred when I inquired about a high percentage rate for the pilot. The honda guy replied 'we're honda, we don't do 0%' Again, hands down, the best bang for your buck is the toyota highlander.
