I PURCHASED A 2000 EDDIE BAUER WITH ALL AVAILABLE OPTIONS IN DECEMBER OF 1999 AND I AM REALLY PLEASED WITH EVERYTHING ABOUT THE VEHICLE EXCEPT THE FINAL DRIVE RATIO. IT IS NOT ADEQUATE FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE EVEN WITHOUT PULLING OR CARRYING ANY EXTRA WEIGHT. WHEN I ORDERED IT,I WAS TOLD THAT THE ONLY REAR DIFFERENTIAL I COULD GET WAS THE 3.55 RATHER THAN THE 3.73 THAT CAME IN THE OLDER MODELS. I AM VERY DISSAPPOINTED WITH THE LACK OF PULLING POWER ON SLIGHT INCLINES. IT CHANGES DOWN TO A LOWER GEAR EVEN WHEN I AM THE ONLY OCCUPANT IN THE CAR. OTHERWISE, I LOVE THE VEHICLE.
