Nissan has had a tough go of it with the Titan truck. Introduced for 2005 and equipped to take on Chevy, Dodge and Ford in one of the last domestically-dominated market segments in the industry, the Titan suffered quality woes that did not help it to sway long-standing loyalties to the Big Three brands. Nissan says problems at its Canton, Miss., assembly plant have been resolved, and that the 305-horsepower/379 lb.-ft. Titan goes toe-to-toe with the best in the class. Towing capacity is down, though, at a maximum of 9,500 pounds. Nissan needs to get the Titan up to speed quickly if it expects to win buyers.
