Drive the new Hyundai Elantra, and you're likely to be impressed by how quiet it is, how stable it is, how responsive it is, and how comfortable it is. You are not likely to be impressed by how fast it is. The engine is peppy and the automatic transmission shifts unobtrusively but wastes no time in responding to requests for additional power when passing or accelerating into traffic.
