Toyota Tundra –
What's new for 2007?
Toyota's gunning for the Detroit Three with its hulking, redesigned Tundra full-size pickup. Built in San Antonio, Texas, and finally matching Chevy, Dodge, and Ford in terms of size and power, the new Toyota Tundra could deepen the dent that escalating fuel prices have put in domestic truck sales. But traditional pickup buyers are a loyal lot, and Nissan had a tough time wooing them with the American-made Titan. Key Tundra specs include an available 5.7-liter V8 making 271 horsepower at 5,400 rpm and 313 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,400 rpm, plus a 10,000-pound towing capacity.
