2007 Volkswagen Passat Wagon Review

Volkswagen is a brand still in the midst of figuring where it wants to be in the market – affordable? premium? luxury? Our Passat Wagon was a perfect example, with its odd pairing of premium features (power tailgate) and entry-level materials (rubber-wrapped steering wheel), but the $29,430 sticker put it within reach of a number of competitors, and considering that a fully-loaded model can run upwards of $40,000, the list of competitors grew even greater. They include the Audi A4 Avant, the BMW 3 Series Wagon, the Dodge Magnum, the Mazda6 Sport Wagon, the Saab 9-3 SportCombi, the Subaru Forester, the Subaru Outback, and the Volvo V70.
