It’s right there in the name: Mini. A petite size defines the Mini brand, along with the agile handling associated with small, light vehicles, plus a retro British design hearkening back to the original Mini vehicle that was a groundbreaking small car when it debuted in 1959. But there’s a lot more to modern Minis, which have become tiny luxury cars as much as performance machines. Mini was resurrected as a division of German luxury carmaker BMW in 2002, and the latest Minis share more of BMW’s sophistication — and relatively high price tag — than ever before.
